{"id":36525,"date":"2022-12-23T13:05:34","date_gmt":"2022-12-23T18:05:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.greenmoney.com\/2025\/?p=36525"},"modified":"2023-01-01T20:44:11","modified_gmt":"2023-01-02T01:44:11","slug":"esg-incorporation-by-money-managers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.greenmoney.com\/2025\/esg-incorporation-by-money-managers\/","title":{"rendered":"ESG Incorporation by Money Managers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"landing-links\"><a href=\"\/\">&gt;&gt; Back to January 2023 Issue<\/a><\/div>\n<p>Using the US SIF Foundation\u2019s modified methodology, this report identified 349 money managers and 1,359 community investment institutions incorporating ESG criteria into their investment decision-making processes across a total of $5.6 trillion in assets under management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Figure C <\/strong>provides a breakdown by investment vehicles<sup>1<\/sup>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$1.2 trillion\u201422 percent\u2014 in assets were managed through registered investment companies such as mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, variable annuities and closed-end funds.<\/li>\n<li>$762 billion\u201414 percent\u2014 in assets were managed through alternative investment vehicles, such as private equity and venture capital funds, hedge funds and property funds.<\/li>\n<li>$458 billion in assets were managed by community investing institutions.<\/li>\n<li>$186 billion in assets were managed through other commingled funds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fifty-three percent of the total assets reported by 135 money managers using specific ESG criteria could not readily be categorized by investment vehicle type, such as mutual fund or private equity fund, because those managers did not provide adequate disclosures.
